Uttar Pradesh public works department (PWD) minister Shivpal Yadav on Thursday said the Samajwadi Party (SP) will not give ticket to any criminals in the next assembly elections in the state.
In the same breath, he added that in case any party office bearer or worker was found involved in any criminal activities, they would be shown the door without delay. The minister also said the party workers had been asked to keep away from such elements.
“We are committed to fielding candidates with clean image. We take a resolution here that the SP will not field any ‘goonda’ in the upcoming assembly elections,” he said.
The senior SP minister expressed these views while speaking at the foundation day function of the Darshanmuni Udasin Naga Baba De g ree College in Kasvad village of Chandauli district. On Quami Ekta Dal issue, he once again clarified that he was not upset over the demerger.
Highlighting the development work carried out by the Akhilesh Yadav government, he claimed that the ruling party had fulfilled all its poll promises in just three years and thereby ensured all round development in the state.
Hitting out at PM Narendra Modi, Shivpal Yadav alleged that he had deceived the Ganga. Though the Centre brought a proposal worth ` 20,000 crore for a ‘Clean Ganga’, nothing was actually done in this regard, he further alleged.
